Kyle Lohse pitched a complete game as the Dominican Republicans defeated the
Burbank Tigers in 11 innings 8 to 5 at Pro Player Stadium.

Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings. Dominican came out
the victor in the 11th inning. Scott Podsednik got things going when he drew
a walk. Podsednik was safe on a stolen base. After an out was recorded,
Scott Hatteberg stepped in and he drew a walk. Vernon Wells was up next and
he lined a single knocking in a run. Dominican continued their aggressive
style with another stolen base. One out later, Erubiel Durazo stepped up to
the plate and he was walked intentionally to load the bases. Alfonso Soriano
came next and he singled which was good for two more runs. Soriano took
second on the throw. Dominican managed 14 in their victory.

The win went to Lohse(3-7) who allowed 5 runs in the game. Francis
Beltran(0-2) ended up with the loss in relief. He was knocked around pretty
good, giving up 3 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.
